Ayurveda, a centuries-old holistic healing system, offers a profound approach to well-being and balance. SNEHAPANA

Snehapana is a unique and special method of internal administration of medicated ghee or oil mentioned in the classical Ayurveda texts. Medicated ghee or oil is given internally in a proportionally increased quantity for a period of 3 to 7 days as recommended by the physician.


SWEDANAM

Swedanam is the process in which medicated steam is passed over the whole body after applying medicated oil all over the body and is recommended to many musculoskeletal and neuromuscular disorders.


VAMANA

Vamana Karma (therapeutic emesis) primarily a purification procedure is one of the five Pradhana Karmas (chief procedures) of Panchakarma. This procedure is effectively used in healthy and ailing persons for the purification of the body and extraction of Doshas (especially Kapha). It is the major treatment for many diseases like respiratory disorders, thyroid disorders, skin diseases, etc.


VIRECHANA

Virechana therapy is defined as the medicated purgation therapy, which cleanses the Pitta and purifies the blood, by clearing off the toxins from the body. The treatment concentrates on the toxins that are accumulated in the lower GIT. The gastro-intestinal tract is also cleansed by Virechana therapy. It is the major treatment for skin diseases, orthopaedic and neuromuscular conditions, digestive disorders, etc.


NASYAM

Nasyam is one among the Panchakarma treatments in which the herbal juices or medicated oil is administered through the nose. It is the major treatment for many diseases like sinusitis, migraine, cervical problems, hair problems, etc.


VASTHI

Purificatory measure which consists of suitable medicaments in the form of enemata is administered through rectal, vaginal or urethral routes. It is one of the main treatment for musculoskeletal, spinal, neuromuscular & digestive disorders.


RAKTHAMOKSHAM

It refers to purificatory measure in diseases related with impure blood by using external means like, needles (Prachanam), leeches (Jalookavacharanam), horns etc, (Bloodletting-specific therapy for diseases related to blood).


PIZHICHIL

In Pizhichil, cotton cloths immersed in lukewarm medicated oil will be squeezed all over the body by two to four trained therapists in special rhythmic way continuously for 45 minutes or as prescribed by the physician.


SIROVASTHI

Certain lukewarm herbal oils are poured into an open headed cap fitted on the head for 15 to 60 minutes per day according to the patient's condition for a period of 7 days. These treatments are highly effective for facial paralysis, dryness of nostrils, mouth and throat, severe headaches etc.


UDWARTHANAM

Udwarthanam is a typical massage with herbal powders for about 30 to 45 minutes or as prescribed by the physician.


ABHYANGAM

Abhyangam is a type of oil massage in which strokes are given corresponding to the diseases for 45 minutes.


KIZHI

Herbal leaves or herbal powders are applied to the whole body in boluses with hot medicated oils for 45 minutes per day for a period of 7 to 14 days.


KATIVASTHI

In Kativasthi, specially prepared warm medicated oil is poured over the lower back with herbal paste boundary. This treatment last for about 45 minutes to 1 hour and is good for any type of back pain and spinal disorders. Likewise Greevavasthi and Januvasthi is done for neck and knee disorders respectively.


LEPANAM

Lepanam is a process by which medicated herbal paste is applied on the affected part. This is useful for various inflammatory conditions.


DHARA

Dhara is one of the treatment procedure of pouring medicated oil (taila dhara), buttermilk (takradhara), milk (ksheera dhara), decoction (kashaya dhara) and fermented whey (dhanyamla dhara) on forehead or all over the body or on a specific part of the body as prescribed by the physician for 45 minutes. Along with this body massage is also done.


AGNIKARMA

Agnikarma is a process where a small metal rod is heated and placed at the necessary location. This is done only on doctor's recommendation and by qualified and experienced doctor. The metal rod used is generally made of copper or Panchadhatu (5 metal alloy). It is generally done in cases of joint pain, corn, calcaneal spur etc.


PICHU

Pichu therapy, named after the medicated cloth fold applied on the patient during treatment, is a palliative measure. It is extensively used for the remediation of cranial nerve disorders caused by Vata imbalances. Based on the patient's requirements and ailments, it can also be used for neck, spine, hip, chest, knee, and shoulder. For the treatment, wool or cotton cloth is folded to the thickness of one's palm, dipped in warm medicated oils, and placed on the patient. More oil is dripped until the Pichu is soaked. It is then replaced and the procedure is repeated. Pichu therapy is prescribed for individuals suffering from persistent migraines, neck pain, back pain, fractures, and dislocations.
